Marvin the Mummy | Halloween Story

Marvin the Mummy

In the creaky old museum, when the lights went out and the visitors went home, something magical happened. The exhibits came to life! Marvin the Mummy lived in a big, dusty sarcophagus. Every night, he would unwrap his bandages and stretch his arms. "Time to play!" he'd whisper. But tonight was special. It was Halloween! Marvin was excited to join the museum's spooky party. He practiced his scary face in the mirror. "Boo!" he said softly. But he didn't look very scary. He looked... cute! Marvin frowned. "How can I be spooky if I'm not scary?" Suddenly, he heard a clatter. It was Skelly the Skeleton, Marvin’s best friend. "Ready for the party?" Skelly asked, his bones rattling. "I don't know," Marvin sighed. "I'm not scary enough." Skelly patted Marvin's bandaged shoulder. "Don't worry! Let's find you a costume." They tiptoed through the dark halls, passing growling dinosaur bones and suits of armor that creaked as they moved. In the Ancient Egypt room, they found a pharaoh's crown. "Perfect!" said Skelly. In the pirate exhibit, they borrowed an eye patch. "Arrr-mazing!" laughed Marvin. From the knight's display, they took a shiny shield. "So cool!" Marvin grinned. But as they hurried back, Marvin tripped! His bandages unraveled, leaving a trail behind him. "Oh no!" cried Marvin. "My wrappings!" They tried to gather the bandages, but it was too late. The party was about to start! "What'll I do?" Marvin wailed. Skelly had an idea. "I know! You can be... a mummy pirate pharaoh knight!" Marvin looked at his mix-matched outfit and giggled. It was silly, but fun! At the party, everyone loved Marvin's unique costume. The wobbly mummies, the ghost who said "Boo!", and even the werewolf with fluffy fur all wanted to dance with him. As they played games like "Pin the Smile on the Jack-o'-Lantern" and "Musical Tombstones," Marvin realized something. Being scary wasn't what Halloween was about. It was about having fun with friends! When the sun began to rise, Marvin hugged Skelly. "Thanks for helping me. This was the best Halloween ever!" As Marvin climbed back into his sarcophagus, he smiled. He couldn't wait for next Halloween. Maybe he'd be a mummy cowboy astronaut baker!
